(SPOT.ph) Bohol island is one of those places you have to visit at least once in your life. A week wouldn't be enough to explore all its natural wonders. But after perhaps three or four visits to the island, you'll start to crave less of the adventure and more chill, heck maybe even luxe, ways to spend your time. Say, instead of going on an all-day island hopping tour, you'd opt for a more low-key relaxing day by the beach or the pool, which is completely fine; traveling doesn't always mean you have to be on the go, which is why resorts that offer a slower relaxing vibe with everything you need right on the property have a high appeal. For the sake of relaxation and comfort, a little splurging never hurt anyone, right? Enter: Amorita.

Here's everything you need to know about Amorita Resort in Panglao, Bohol:
Amorita Resort is a five-hectare property on a cliffside along Panglao's busiest shoreline, Alona beach. This location allows guests to be at the center of Panglao's party and dining scene while also providing enough distance to provide a more peaceful vibe. Despite being a five-hectare property, they have only developed three hectares to make the area less crowded and more spacious, allowing for better comfort and respite.
Upon arriving at Amorita, which is a short ride from the new Bohol-Panglao International Airport, you'll be greeted by the staff with welcome drinks and a cool towel to freshen up. Then, as you get ready to check in, you can sit by the welcome lounge and take in the view of Alona Beach.
Rooms at Amorita range from a simple 35 square-meter Deluxe Room with a garden view to a 40 square-meter Junior Suite to a full 240 square-meter Two-Bedroom Villa with its own lap pool and lawn.
There are a total of 16 villas in the resort. Some are single-bedroom garden view villas, some have an ocean view, and then there's the mammoth two-bedroom villa. Each of these has its own pool and outdoor area.
The Two-Bedroom Villa is good for about six people. It has a receiving area, a dining area, one main bedroom with a king-size bed, two double beds for the other room, two toilets, and two baths.
What to Do
There are many things to do at Amorita Resort for all ages and all types of travelers. For those who want to relax and bask in the resort's beauty, aside from the private villa pools, there are also two public pools ready for guests to use. Each infinity pool has a great ocean view and is perfect for lounging around and chilling. Lounge chairs with umbrellas also pepper the pool areas.
For those looking for adventure, the resort also has an in-house dive center that can arrange scuba diving excursions and snorkeling activities nearby. In addition, paddleboats, kayaks, and even the those Instagrammable crystal kayaks can be used by guests to explore the waters surrounding the resort.
Not a fan of water activities? Land tours can also be arranged for you by the front desk. If you don't want to leave the resort and maximize your stay, there are activities such as table tennis, soccer, and archery that can help you pass the time. These activities are also open to young children, provided an adult will accompany them.
A children's play area is also on-site; aside from this spot, there are a lot of open green spaces where children can run around and just be kids.
The resort also offers complimentary yoga sessions every Saturday morning. In terms of wellness activities, nothing tops their in-house spa called the Sea Tree Spa, which offers Filipino treatments, massages, and baths.
For those always chasing the sun, know that Amorita is an excellent vantage point to watch either. View the sunrise at Amorita's Secret Cove, a small patch of beach on the eastern part of the island complete with lounge chairs and a swing right over the cliffside.
For sunset views, head to the western side, near the Alona beach entrance. For in-house guests, complimentary sunset cocktails are served every Wednesday and Friday from 5 p.m. to 6 p.m. Drink freshly mixed alcoholic and non-alcoholic drinks while basking in the colorful Alona beach sunset.
Where to Eat
Amorita Resort's in-house restaurant is called Saffron, with a menu inspired by Continental, Asian, and Filipino cuisine. Saffron also serves a variety of desserts and drinks worth trying. A must-try when at Saffron is their Tablea Chocolate Cake, a truly decadent earthy and tasty take on the classic chocolate treat. The resort is also planning on adding more dining options, set to launch sometime this year.
If nothing from Saffron catches your fancy, a quick walk down to Alona beach will bring you tons of choices from local inihaw classics to more continental options to bar food; whatever you're craving, the island has likely got it.
If you're on the island with your S.O. and are planning to have quiet one-on-one dining time, you could also arrange a full-course private dining session at the most picturesque spot on the resort.
