What to Expect at This Baguio Bed and Breakfast

For visitors who want to take advantage of Baguio’s cool weather that’s conducive for walking and barely breaking into a sweat, La Casa Bianca is well-situated. In just a few minutes, you can find yourself outside the gates of the Baguio Botanical Gardens, on one end of Session Road, or along the same road as the Pink Sisters Convent and Mt. Cloud Bookshop. If you’re venturing further, you can get on one of the jeepneys and taxis that regularly ply the route.

Walking or driving up a short ramp from the main road, you’ll find the two-storey main house and a separate structure with the restaurant on the second floor. The garden has a small bamboo grove, flowering plants, and old trees. When you walk into the old living room, can enjoy comfortable couches that you could sink into.

There are seven rooms of varying sizes. But all of them have touches of a cozy family home or rest house: embroidered bed sheets and solid wood furniture. Room categories range from those that can accommodate two guests (P2,7450) and bigger ones that can fit up to five persons (P6,875). 

Each room has a dresser, cabinet, en suite bathroom with a hot and cold shower, and a flat-screen TV. Free WiFi is accessible everywhere on the property. Requests can be made for additional extra beds, depending on the availability of space. Hotel guests get access to basic toiletries and are also welcome to the drinking water station—just bring your tumblers for refilling.

Guests also get free breakfast with a range of choices: from fruit plate to red rice with a fried egg and your choice of protein: bangus, Baguio longganisa, or ham. These plates are all served with either a cup of hot brewed coffee or lemongrass tea. 

You can enjoy your breakfast (and any other meals) at the adjacent dining area or one among a line of gazebos. Just make sure to save a spot early. Anywhere you sit to enjoy your meal, you’ll have a great view of the trees and plants swaying in the light breeze or under gentle rain.

If you’re celebrating special occasions—whether it be an anniversary, birthday, or a proposal, let the staff know and they will enthusiastically prepare the gazebo with carefully crafted adornments for you to enjoy with your nearest and dearest.

Aside from their breakfast options, their restaurant draws locals and tourists alike with their gently spiced roast chicken, their warm cup of hot chocolate, and their in-house ube halaya. Ask for their specials, especially around Christmas time and Valentine’s day.

Pro tip: Make sure to reserve a few bottles as pasalubong before you’re scheduled to leave so you don’t go home empty-handed. Sometimes, lines form here, drawn by one of the best purple yam delights in the city.
