MUJI's New Coffee Counter Serves Curry From All Over

(SPOT.ph) After a long wait, MUJI is finally open in SM North Edsa. Countless months of waiting have proven fruitful as not only are we getting a Japanese shopping mecca in the North, but we're also getting the largest MUJI Coffee Counter in the country to date. Finally, Northies no longer have to drive to BGC or Shangri La Plaza just for a taste of MUJI's coffee and snacks. It's finally here in Quezon City—with exclusive dishes you’ll want to curry up and try for yourself!

Sneak Peek: MUJI Coffee Counter SM North Edsa

The place is quite big and, TBH, possibly overwhelming. But don't worry, Spotters, we've got you. There's no missing MUJI SM North Edsa. It takes up practically the entire second floor of North Towers. Once you're already in the vicinity, make your way to the Coffee Counter near the curry kiosks and plant section. 

Unlike other MUJI Coffee Counters, the one in SM North is spacious. It covers about a third of MUJI SM North Edsa's 2500 square meter space. There are enough seats for 65 to 70 people, which range from long communal tables, high cocktail tables, and an elevated bar table complete with bag caddies and power outlets. We totally see ourselves hanging out here and whiling the time away. 

Despite the large space, the menu is more or less the same as the other MUJI Coffee Counters—save for two SM North Edsa Exclusive Menu items.

Here's what to get at the SM North Edsa MUJI Coffee Counter:

Aside from bringing their signature drinks and snacks to Quezon City, MUJI's SM North Edsa Coffee Counter is also the first to feature the MUJI Curry. At the SM North Coffee Counter, diners can order rice meals featuring MUJI's signature curry blends of different spice levels. 

There are currently seven different variants of the curry rice meal, each with its own level of heat. The Butter Chicken Curry (P225) and the Dhal Curry (P225) are ranked lowest in terms of heat. Don't be fooled. They're still marked with two chili peppers, so they still pack a punch. 

On the other end of the spicy spectrum lies the Green Curry (P245), which has a zesty profile thanks to its core ingredients: lemongrass, green chilis, and coconut milk. The recipe they use references Thai recipes and is enriched with chicken, bamboo shoots, and mushrooms making it a flavorful eat with every bite.  Other curry flavors include Prawn Curry (P265), Chicken Masak LeMak (P245), Malaysian Chicken Curry (P245), and Chicken Keema Curry (P225). 

Wash down all those spicy, hot flavors with signature MUJI drinks like their Ichigo Cafe Mocha (P120/small, P140/large), Cafe Latte (P100/small, P120/large for hot; P120/small, P125/large for iced), Kiwi Strawberry Tea (P120/small, P125/large). If you're bringing kids to the mall, you could also get them the SM North Edsa exclusive Kids' Drinks. These special kiddie-friendly drinks include Iced Ichigo Milk (P95/small, P110/ large) and Iced Chocolate (P95/small, P110/large).
