SPOTTED: There's Finally Going to Be a Din Tai Fung Branch in the North

(SPOT.ph) Northie dim sum lovers rejoice! Our favorite spot for soup dumplings, a.k.a. xiao long bao, is finally headed in our area. We're talking about the Taiwanese dining spot Din Tai Fung. For years, QC, Navotas, and other Northern folk had to frequent DTF's outposts in the South, specifically, SM Megamall, Power Plant Mall, Greenbelt, BGC, and MOA, just to get a taste of their dangerously addictive eats. But that looks like it's about to change as we spotted a Din Tai Fung board-up in SM City North Edsa. Yup, the food gods have heard our pleas. We're finally getting DTF in the North.

SPOTTED: MUJI's Opening Its First Branch in the North

Here's what we know about Din Tai Fung's first North branch:

Located on the 2nd floor of the SM City North Edsa City Center, this Din Tai Fung boardup is easy to miss since it's not exactly where the other dining spots are in the mall. But keep your eyes peeled as it's tucked along a corridor populated by sporting brands like Nike and Under Armour, almost bordering on the area covered by The Block.

If you frequent SM North Edsa, especially before the pandemic, you might recall this area as formerly occupied by the City Center's Movie Theaters. So in terms of size, this Din Tai Fung has a lot of ground to cover. Yay, more seats for us!

There's no news yet from the Moment Group regarding when this branch is expected to open. There's also no word about branch exclusives or specials for the brand's first branch in the North of Manila. But we're keeping our fingers crossed that we get Din Tai Fung's signature Xiao Long Bao, noodles, Crispy Beef, and Fried Rice sans trips to the South ASAP. 

Din Tai Fung is a Taiwanese restaurant that was brought to the Philippines by The Moment Group, which is also behind establishments like Manam, Ooma, 8 Cuts, and more.
