(SPOT.ph) If there's one cuisine many Filipinos crave a lot, it's Chinese food. And outside Binondo, when you mention dim sum or dumplings, one of the first top-of-mind brands is Din Tai Fung. Unfortunately for those in the North, most of Din Tai Fung's five branches—such as the newly renovated SM Megamall branch and the largest one in the Mall of Asia—are located in the South. That is, until today, June 15, as Din Tai Fung is finally opening its sixth branch in SM North Edsa. People from the North of Metro Manila can finally get their hands on the crowd-favorite DTF Xiao Long Bao, Crispy Beef Strips, and many more sans the trip down south!

Here's a look at the newly opened Din Tai Fung branch in SM North Edsa:
Back in February, we spotted the Din Tai Fung board up on the second floor of the City Center in what used to be an area for SM Cinema. Fast-forward to today: the board-up is now gone and has been replaced by the sight of DTF's sleek, bright, and clean interiors.
The new branch is said to be able to seat 250 people. Talk about having enough space. Din Tai Fung SM North Edsa is huge!
Of course, a Din Tai Fung restaurant wouldn't be complete without its giant window looking into the kitchen where dumplings and noodles are made. Would you believe each dumpling maker, or shifu as they are called by the restaurant, can make 20 soup dumplings per minute?
You can expect to find all your favorite DTF eats here, as the branch will house the same menu as all other branches. Bring your friends and fam and fill up on their Xiao Long Bao, Crispy Beef Strips, Fried Rice, Shrimp and Pork Dumplings, and other signatures.
Din Tai Fung first arrived in the Philippines back in 2015. It was brought to our shores by the Moment Group, the same folks behind favorites such as Manam, 8Cuts Burgers, Mo' Cookies, Ooma, and more. Founded originally as a cooking oil shop in 1958 in Taiwan, Din Tai Fung is the world’s most widely recognized xiaolongbao brand. It has a total of 179 shops across 13 countries and numerous accolades under its belt, including a Michelin star for its maiden shop along Xinyi Road in Taipei.
