Ramen Daisho Says Goodbye to Mandaluyong
For now, anyway, but they will be missed.
(SPOT.ph) It's been roughly a decade since ramen made its major food-trend boom in Manila. It remains as locally loved now as it was in the early 2010s, if not more so given the many new restaurants and brands that have since popped up—and among the early local players was Ramen Daisho. The shop opened in Liberty Center (now Mandala Park), Mandaluyong in 2013, cooking up bowls of ramen that were thick, hearty, and full of umami—close to the real-deal stuff you can get at ramen-ya on the side streets of Japan. After their aforementioned first location, they'd open a second branch in Makati, but those Mandaluyong regulars will have to put their hankerings on hold. Ramen Daisho is permanently closing the said Mandaluyong branch.

Ramen Daisho is closing their Mandaluyong outpost:
The restaurant made the announcement in a Facebook post published on September 18. "Please be advised that Ramen Daisho Mandala park branch will be permanently closed starting Sept 19, 2022," they write. On the bright side, they assure us that this isn't the last of them; for starters, their second branch in Makati remains open to sate whatever cravings might pop up during this time. Better yet, they write: "[We] will be moving to a new location to serve you better."
"We want to thank everyone, our loyal customers for being part of this incredible journey with us," the caption reads. "This is not goodbye, but a see you later."
Having landed the fourth spot in our 2017 Top 10 Miso Ramen in Manila and 2019 Top 10 Shoyu Ramen in Manila lists, they will definitely be missed for regulars in the area. In the meantime, we suggest dashing to their Assembly Grounds, Makati outpost—and giving their Facebook page a follow for updates.
