(SPOT.ph) The chances of seeing your K-Pop idols live may seem pretty slim right about now, but hey, if you’re a gamer then you might soon be able to hit two birds with one stone. BLACKPINK and PUBG Mobile took social media by storm when they announced on July 12 their second collaboration, a concert called Blackpink: The Virtual. The performance will be the first-ever concert for any K-Pop group in the in-game virtual format. It runs for two consecutive weekends, July 23 to 24 and July 30 to 31 on a three-dimensional “stage” within the game. Best part? It's free. Just note that there are some things you need to do to get in.
BLACKPINK as Avatars on PUBG Stage
The concert features the foursome—Jennie, Lisa, Rosé and Jisoo—as 3D avatars captured via motion sensors to give the performance a more “life-like” look and feel. BP is set to perform their chart-topping hits and—Surprise!— to debut a special track and music video which will also be released through PUBG’s social media accounts.
Aside from the performance, fans will also be able to cop custom-made performance suits in-game from July 23 to August 31.

Getting Tickets to Blackpink: The Virtual on PUBG
Fans are encouraged to download the app by July 15 to be able to avail of the free tickets and grab the necessary “concert resource pack” the next day.
The event arrives with PUBG Mobile’s 2.1 update which includes a new themed game mode, Ancient Secret: Arise, and new season contents.
This event marks BLACKPINK’s second collaboration with PUBG Mobile with the first having their tracks as background music in the gaming lobby. This happened in October 2020 as promotion for Blackpink’s first album, The Album.

Virtual concerts are becoming a new way to hold gigs live, and having them in-game is an added layer to the experience. A bunch of big name artists, mainly from the west have done it: think Ariana Grande and Travis Scott in Fortnite, and with Lil Nas and Royal Blood in Roblox.
