(SPOT.ph) All is right in the world of Westeros—at least, all as well can be, given power-hungry lords, fire-breathing dragons, and monarch births gone wrong. Three episodes into the premiere season of HBO's Game of Thrones prequel show House of the Dragon, we already feel it in the air that this is going to be a streaming series that has our friends and family buzzing, theorizing, and meme-ing for the years to come.
The new series has got us looking back to the first season of Game of Thrones and how a number of fan-favorite characters weren't introduced until later seasons. The rightful king (as per our opinion only, of course) Stannis Baratheon (Stephen Dillane) and his mysterious Red Priestess Melisandre (Carice van Houten) weren't introduced until season two, while Prince Oberyn Martell (Pedro Pascal) only had a shortlived stint on the show's fourth season. Given the established track record, the future of House of the Dragon's star ensemble looks bright, but the latest rumor mill is indicating the addition of star magic that is much more... chaotic.

Here's everything we know about Elizabeth Olsen joining House of the Dragon:
As first reported by Giant Freakin Robot, the dragon-hot rumor circulating over the weekend was that Avengers and Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness star Elizabeth Olsen will be joining House of the Dragon's second season, which was quickly greenlit by HBO after the series premiere in August.
Olsen is, of course, well-known in Hollywood for portraying the flawed hero Wanda Maximoff, a.k.a. the Scarlet Witch, a role we asked her about during the Doctor Strange press conference in April. As a key aspect of her character is the ability to wield "chaos magic," fans of both the Marvel Cinematic Universe and the world of Game of Thrones immediately began speculating that Olsen could take on the role of a Red Priestess, given the similar mystical powers and red color scheme.
Servants of the Lord of Light, the Red Priestesses popped up throughout the original series. The most prominent of them, the aforementioned Melisandre aided Stannis' claim to the Iron Throne until his death in the later seasons. Melisandre was revealed to be centuries old in the penultimate season, so should the character return in House of the Dragon, it's very likely van Houten will reprise the role.
However, given that Olsen previously auditioned to play Daenerys Targaryen in the original series, a role which ultimately went to Emilia Clarke, we'd love for Olsen's journey to come full circle and for her to portray one of Daenarys' ancestors in the prequel series. Without heading into spoilers, there will be significant time skips throughout the series in order to capture the full history of the decades-long Targaryen War of Succession, informally referred to as the "Dance of Dragons," meaning more of the platinum-haired conquerors are on the way.
Still, all we can do is wait as the coming weeks reveal what's in store for this season and the next. All we know is, with Olsen on the way, our watch is far from ending.
