The Miracle of Teddy Bear: Everything You Need to Know

What’s the Big Deal?

The Miracle of Teddy Bear, locally known in Thailand as Khun Mee Pahitan, is a 16-episode romantic and mysterious fantasy-drama series about a young man who owned a white teddy bear as a kid. Unknown to Nat, this bear can communicate with other things inside the house, giving us peak Disney’s Beauty and the Beast vibes. The boy held onto the stuffed toy for comfort for about 10 years before physically and emotionally ridding himself of it.

This is when things start to get interesting. Not long after, the stuffed animal turned into a young man. The catch is, he can’t remember a thing about his past. As he tries his hardest to trace where he came from, he slowly discovers the history of Nat’s family and how it’s related to him. With so many things and #hugot to unearth from the past, can Taohu discover everything he wants and fulfill his wishes before he loses his human form?

The Lineup

We round up the main characters of the show and let you know why their faces seem familiar.

Job Thuchapon Koowongbundit is Peeranat/Nat (Nut), Taohu’s object (er, person) of affection. Koowongbundit is a 30-year-old actor who formerly worked as an intern for JOOX (a music award-giving body based in Thailand). After finishing his studies as a Film Production major, he started working on commercials, short films, and music videos. Aside from this series, he also played roles in shows like Meo Me & You and Love Lie Hide Fake: The Series. Fun fact: He also sang the final music for The Miracle of Teddy Bear.

In Sarin Ronnakiat takes on the role of Taohu (Tofu) the teddy bear. He started his stint in the entertainment industry as a DJ and eventually turned to acting in 2018. Aside from this series, he worked on shows like Duang Jai Nai Fai Nhao (Cold Heart), The Man Series: Pupa, and Thong EK: The Herbal Master.

First Parada Chutchavalchotikul (more fondly known as Stop) plays as Kensit, Nat’s friend. Aside from this Thai BL series, he also starred in different Thai drama shows like Chuamong Tong Mon (The Magical Hour), Sunya Ruk Sunya Luang (The Promise), and Tan Chai Kummalor (Thai Parent Story).

Chai Chatayodom Hiranyatithi acts as Sipmuen/Saen, Nat’s father. Even before he received the role for this project, he was already bagging awards left and right. In 2007, he was recognized as Best Actor with the Komchadluek Award). He was also awarded for the same reason in the Mue Dok Rak Ban event in the following year. Moreover, he won the Best Supporting Actor award (Natataj Awards) held in Sai Soke.

Um Apasiri Nitibhon acts alongside the main actors as Mathana, Nat’s mother. Um is a renowned Thai actress and supermodel. Some of her previous projects included The Victim, Sunset at Chaopraya, and A Tale of Ylang Ylang.

The Crew

Prapt is the original writer of the novel which the entire series is based on. Its original title is “Teddy Bear Miracle.” Yuthana Lorphanpaibul, sometimes known as Paajaew, directed this film. Muanfhun Chaonua, Suphawan Thongklip, and Sansanee Tulayathanabodi are the screenwriters for this production. It was produced by Channel 3 and was slated for airing early 2022.
