WATCH: A Young Tom Holland as an Aspiring Ballet Dancer in Billy Elliot: The Musical

The Spider-Man actor has some moves up his sleeve.

(SPOT.ph) Actor Tom Holland is best known as the friendly neighborhood Spider-Man in the Marvel Cinematic Universe and in the now-showing Spider-Man: Far From Home. He's gone viral a few times, mostly because of his tendency to spoil the movies he's in, but he's recently been making rounds on the Internet for his dancing skills. He shows promising groove and rhythm and for good reason: he's starred as an aspiring ballet dancer in the 2008 to 2010 run of Billy Elliot: The Musical.

Young Holland was part of a street dance performance in a ballet school and the headmaster noticed him in the bunch. Following his suggestion to audition for the role of Billy Elliot, Holland gave it a go. The audition process lasted for about two and a half years, and it involved dance training in ballet as well as in acrobatics to prepare for the role. Holland says that theater demands focus, but one look at the crowd makes him feel "proper happy."

He has long been dancing but what really got people wondering why he's so good is because of a viral tweet of him dancing to Drake's "Controlla" alongside dancer and choreographer Deja Carter, who also happens to be Holland's Spider-Man co-star Zendaya's close friend. The video was shot in 2016.

There's also footage of Zendaya dancing with them!

His dance performance of  Rihanna's "Umbrella" on Lip Sync Battle in 2017 is also getting some attention. As if his dance moves weren't enough, he went above and beyond with his costume. No wonder his co-star Zendaya is left in awe.
