This K-Pop and BTS Favorite Chef Opened His First Samgyup Spot in Manila

(SPOT.ph) If you're a fan of Korean variety shows, you might be familiar with Chef Baek Jong Won. Chef Baek sometimes called  "Chef Paik" is a household name in Korea not only for his appearances on TV and his friendship with idols like BTS and Super Junior but also for his countless food businesses and restaurants. Well, if you want to sample his food without needing to travel all the way to South Korea, the famous chef has brought another one of his businesses to our shores.

Koreanophiles, read up.  We're happy to report that Chef Baek's Korea-famous K-BBQ joint, Saemaeul BBQ Restaurant, is finally in Manila. Here's where and what to expect from Chef Baek's third brand in the Philippines.

Here's what to expect from this famous Korean BBQ restaurant:

Located in Korea Town in Glorietta 1, Makati,  Saemaeul BBQ Restaurant, brings their signature meats for the grill along with their "delectable" marinades. You can drop by daily from 11 a.m. to 10 p.m. Unlike most famous samgyup joints in Manila, Saemaeul BBQ Restaurant does not offer unlimited meat servings. But don't be discouraged from trying this K-BBQ spot. Eating here won't burn a hole through your pocket. 

Try their best-selling barbeque meats, all for under P500 per 200-gram serving. Have your fill of Spicy Yeoltan Bulgogi (P390), Soy Sauce Yeoltan Bulgogi (P390), Ogyeopsal or pork belly with skin (P380), Yangnyeom Pork Gui (P380), Samgeyopsal (P380), and Moksal or pork neck (P360).

But aside from grilled eats and banchan, Saemaeul is also known for its take on Korean stew, specifically its 7-Minute Kimchi Jjigae (P370). This take on pork and kimchi soup is cooked for specifically seven minutes which they claim to be the ideal time to extract the most tangy and salty flavors. 

Wash everything down with soda, juice, or if you want to go all-in the Korean Barbeque experience, order a bottle or two of soju for the table. 

Saemaeul BBQ Restaurant joins Ball Katsu and Paik's Coffee as the third of Chef Baek Jong Won's food concepts in the Philippines. Aside from Manila and South Korea, Saemaeul BBQ also has expanded in other countries and major cities like in the U.S.
