This Violin Cover of a Crash Landing on You Song Will Tug at Your Heartstrings

Looks like the Philippine Philharmonic Orchestra likes Captain Ri's music!

(SPOT.ph) Korean drama Crash Landing on You ended in February, but countless fans are still on a high after that two-hour finale. There are plenty of reasons to love the series—the breathtaking shooting locations, the chemistry between lead actors Hyun Bin and Son Ye Jin, and even the subtle touch of music in the storyline. Captain Ri Jeong Hyeok is known for his moving performances on the piano, and it seems the Philippine Philharmonic Orchestra has added some strings to his music: the group has just uploaded a video of assistant concertmaster Christian Tan's violin cover of "Song for my Brother," which Hyun Bin plays in the hit series.

The post’s caption reads "No virus can stop us from making art and making music. In this time of fear and uncertainty, we need music to soothe our spirit and keep us connected." The Philippine Philharmonic Orchestra says that the cover is to help set the mood for meditation and reflection for Holy Week, from April 5 to 11.

In the drama, Captain Ri plays "Song for my Brother" at a dock in Lake Brienz, Switzerland, where he studied music before joining the military back in North Korea. The piano piece is dedicated to his older brother Ri Hoo Myuk (Ha Seok Jin) who died in an accident.
