Temperature and climate vary significantly, dictating what you have to pack and wear if you plan on flying to this Asian country. But the best thing about having four seasons is the changes in color: pink-filled cherry blossoms in spring, vibrant green fields during the summer, red and orange leaves in autumn, and a blanket of white in winter.

Hokkaido is the northernmost island in Japan. Because of its location, it sees a lot of snow during the winter season. The first snow falls as early as November, while the temperature drops below zero degrees in December.
Nagano Prefecture, which is located in the center of Japan's Honshu Island, is famous for its skiing and snowboarding activities during winter. Its mountains are dotted with ski resorts, which are often booked this time of the year. Nagano is just five hours away from Tokyo by bus.
