Here's what we know about the new solo-traveler-friendly bus to Bicol:
1x1x1 buses, what the hell are those? Well, for the uninitiated, these new buses have three columns of seats, each with singles instead of the usual doubles or, worse, triple-seaters. Think of those premium solo bus seats, but more affordable.
Each bus can accommodate about 35 passengers—that's about half the capacity of a normal bus. But what it lacks in space, it makes up for in comfort and plenty of leg room, as you no longer have to wrestle your neighbors for control over the armrest or do the awkward scooch whenever someone gets up.
Currently, the bus can be booked for daily trips to Naga and Manila. You can even book ahead online if you hate lining up. The fare is P1,000 per way with pick-up points at the Bicol Isarog Bus Terminal in Cubao, South Station Transport Terminal in Alabang, and the terminal in Turbina, Laguna. Aside from having solo seats, the bus is also decked out with charging ports and a comfort room making it ideal for the Manila-Bicol journey, which usually takes about 12 hours.
So if you're traveling solo to the Bicol Region this Holy Week, you might want to consider shelling out a little extra dough for this deluxe premium bus.
