(SPOT.ph) ICYDK, the world's biggest book sale is back! The Big Bad Wolf Book Sale is back in Manila from May 24 to June 2 in Parqal Mall. Ready your wallets, get your book lists in order, and make room on your shelves because over two million titles from different genres, publishers, and authors will be on sale starting as low as P20.

Tickets, Venue, and Schedule of Big Bad Wolf Books Manila 2024
The Big Bad Wolf has a new home. This year, the book sale will be at the 3/F of Parqal Mall in Aseana City, Paranaque. ICYDK, Parqal is one of the newest retail and commercial spaces in the Manila Bay area. It's a stone's throw away from big malls like the Mall of Asia and Ayala Malls Manila Bay. Not that you'd need to go far, as Parqal also has its fair share of restaurants and shops. It even has a 24-hour arcade where you can go after book shopping at Big Bad Wolf Manila 2024.
Much like in previous years, guests can enter Big Bad Wolf for free. You can shop for books 'til you drop from 10 a.m. to 12 a.m. every day from May 24 to June 2. Although no prior registration is needed to enter the premises, organizers encourage visitors to scan and register for free membership via a QR code. Registered visitors will then be able to access exclusive offers and deals, allowing them to save even more as they shop.
What to expect at Big Bad Wolf Books Manila 2024
Over two million books will be up for grabs at the Big Bad Wolf Book Sale, which is spread out over Parqal Mall's third floor. The large space will be divided into three key sections: fiction, non-fiction, and children's books. There will also be books from local publishers like Adarna Publishing, Tahanan Books, Lampara Books, Bookmark Inc., and Feast Books.
Heads up, though: don't expect to be directed to the specific title you are looking for. Much like how a wolf hunts its prey, the Big Bad Wolf Book Sale is a massive curation of titles, so be ready for a scavenger hunt-type experience. We suggest coming to the area with a list of titles, but be open to getting other books and discovering new reads as well.
Aside from your usual book sale, Big Bad Wolf Books 2024 will also feature meet-and-greets with authors, storytelling sessions, and a reading nook where you can rest and read the books you purchased after shopping. There will also be some pocket events that aim to entice young readers about the wonders of the written word.
What is Big Bad Wolf Books 2024 all about?
As any bookworm will tell you, the Big Bad Wolf Book Sale (BBW) is one of the most awaited bookish events of the year. More than just an event where you can get books at low prices, the BBW aims to "change the world one book at a time."
Speaking to members of the press, Big Bad Wolf Co-founder Jacqueline Ng champions reading as a means of inspiration and empowerment. "It's given that books give knowledge, but it's so much beyond that. For a child, reading opens up their mind. Not just in terms of creativity and inspiration, it provides them with a passion for being interested in a subject, and it starts to give them confidence," says Ng.
Specifically, for Big Bad Wolf 2024, the team is on a mission to gather as many as one million new readers. This is why Big Bad Wolf Philippines Managing Director Carol Chuaying excitedly announced that in its 15th year, Big Bad Wolf will be visiting as many as six different cities all over the country to promote and ignite a lifelong passion for reading among Filipinos.
As of writing, Big Bad Wolf is keeping mum on its next locations. Like a wolf stalking its prey, we'll have to wait and see where they'll strike next. Rest assured, the book sale is committed to visiting various urban hubs and rural centers all across the country to bring reading to more people. For 2024, Manila is already the fourth stop on the road to one million new readers. Prior to Manila, Big Bad Wolf already held book sales in Cagayan De Oro, Cebu, and Pampanga.
Big Bad Wolf started in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, back in 2009. It has since toured 15 countries and 37 cities, including Asian countries such as Cambodia, Singapore, Thailand, Hong Kong, and Indonesia. It is currently working on expanding its reach to include countries outside of Asia but has already held events in Tanzania, Kenya, and the United Arab Emirates.
