Two local spots are back on the list, with significantly higher rankings than last year.
(SPOT.ph) Manila's got a growing pizza scene that's continually raising the stakes—so much so that local spots are gaining global recognition. Two in particular keep outdoing themselves everytime: Crosta Pizzeria and a mano, both home to some of the best pies in Asia-Pacific per 50 Top Pizza. The Italian guide once again recognizes the two, this time on their inter-continent World list this 2024.

These pizzerias in Manila are named some of the best in the world:
Following their placement in 50 Top Pizza's World list in 2023, Crosta and a mano are on the 2024 edition of the same list—and at significantly higher spots than last year, too.
Crosta Pizzeria jumps from the 54th to the 12th—that's a whopping 42-place difference. 50 Top Pizza praises, among other things, their dough (a result of long fermentations); the different kinds of pizza available; and the toppings as a product of "good thoughts and intelligent choices" care of Chef Yuichi Abellare Ito, using "excellent quality" ingredients from Italy, the Philippines, and Japan. Ito received the Pizza Maker of the Year 2024 Ferrarelle Award as well. They were also awarded in the Asia-Pacific version of the same list—in 32nd place in 2022, 10th in 2023, and 2nd in 2024.
a mano also makes an impressive 26-spot leap from last year's 96th place to 70th this year. Highlights include e a mano's "modern and bright" dining room; the "warm and relaxing" atmosphere; and their diverse menu of pasta, risotto, and of course their pizzas, of course, which "closely resembles the Neapolitan style" in that it's "soft, melting, [and made] with high-quality ingredients." 50 Top Pizza also bestows them the Best Pasta Proposal 2024 Pastificio Di Martino Award and gives a special shoutout to their fresh pasta dishes, which are "all very well-made." a mano was also awarded in 50 Top Pizza's Asia-Pacific list—at the 48th spot in 2022, 15th in 2023, and 12th in 2024.
50 Top Pizza is an online guide updated annually, listing the "best pizzerias in the world" of different styles. Included in their assessment criteria are the pizza; the service; the space, ambiance, and decor; the wait (e.g., how the "flow of customers is managed" in the restaurant); the wine; the beer; and other beverages.
