Ryan Cayabyab Launches a Series of Free Online Concerts Featuring Pinoy Artists
The project will feature Ebe Dancel, Chito Miranda, Yael Yuzon, and more!
(SPOT.ph) In order to prevent the spread of COVID-19, folks are advised to stay at home and maintain social distance. While you can't attend a show, artists are finding a way to reach out to fans. National Artist for Music Ryan Cayabyab went live on Facebook on March 18, 8 p.m. to perform his hits and introduced Bayanihan, Musikahan, a series of online concerts featuring Filipino artists that will start on March 23.
After his rendition of "Tuwing Umuulan at Kapiling Ka," Cayabyab went on to say that the project aims to raise funds for the benefit of "the most affected and vulnerable" sector of society—folks who need to go to work daily for a living but can't leave their homes as Luzon has been placed under "enhanced community quarantine."
Bayanihan Musikahan consists of several concerts featuring Ebe Dancel, Yael Yuzon, Karylle, Aiza Seguerra, Bayang Barrios, Lea Salonga, Tim Pavino, Cherie Gil, Christian Bautista, Agot Isidro, Chito Miranda, Nyoy Volante, Raymond Lauchengco, Jim Paredes, Zsazsa Padilla, Martin Nievera, Jed Madela, and The Company, to name a few. Each of the artists will perform live on their respective Facebook accounts from their own homes. Cayabyab also plans to reach out to siblings Paolo Benjamin Guico and Miguel Benjamin Guico of Ben&Ben.
Foreign artists like "Chasing Cars" band Snow Patrol, Chris Martin of Coldplay, singer-songwriter John Legend, and Death Cab for Cutie vocalist Ben Gibbard have gone online to give fans free front-row seats to their livestreamed concerts. We're seeing more digital gigs pop up, and the local edition has got us just as excited.
